There's A Place for You!
A Place for Friendship - Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship. That's why we make it a priority
to build lasting bonds between members of our church family -- bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. Best
of all, the circle of care is growing more and more. We'd love for that circle to include you, too.
A Place for Learning - To
us, studying the Bible and hearing the Word is vital because it not only instructs us intellectually, but also guides us in
life. We believe and accept the Bible as God's Word to us, as relevant and applicable this year as it was when written. Opportunities
abound for Christian growth as we meet together to study the Bible and as we go into the community and apply the lessons learned
in our lives.
A Place for Service
- When the truth of the Word of God comes out, it can't help but show us that we are to
serve Him by our service to others. The opportunities at the First Christian Church for service abound. Service
to the Lord could be something as basic as cleaning the facility or as in depth as starting a new ministry. Teaching, caring
and sharing are all part of serving the Lord and you are invited to share your gifts through service in the body of Christ
here.
A Place for Growth -
None of us have made it yet and there is always room for improvement. This is true for us here at First Christian Church.
In our family, we are still growing in our friendship, learning and service. God has put into place the people and facilities
for exciting growth opportunities, both as an impact on the community and as individual Christians. We're excited about
the possibilities that lie ahead. And you can be a part of the excitement as we grow together.
A Place for Prayer - Prayer is the essential to knowing God and living near the heart of God. First Christian Church has
had a vital prayer ministry for many years. We pray for one another. We pray for those who have needs. Prayers of intercession
"stand in the gap" between someone's needs and God's healing, helping answers. Prayer is a mighty power for goodness and against
evil. It is in prayer that we discover God's vision and rest in God's peace.
A Place for Worship - The primary
purpose of the church is to worship God. We are commanded to "have no other gods before" us (Deuteronomy 5:7). We are told
that being in God's presence puts us on "holy ground"(Exodus 3:5). Our recognition of God as our creator, provider, protector
and leader lets us understand in our hearts how wonderful, powerful and mighty is our Lord. We worship by preparing the altar
of our hearts and by preparing the altar of public worship. In a diverse culture, worship takes many forms from silence to
praise, from classical music to contemporary song. Let us exalt him!
