We are called to awesome and wonderful God. We at the First Christian Church believe worship is central in our relationship with God and with one another. Worship is the primary purpose of the church. We believe worship to be vital to community, unity and wholeness - in our person, our family, our church. Worship is the work of the people of God, the community of Christ.

Worship, in fact, springs out of our personal and corporate life experience as we encounter the world and the Lord of history. Worship is not the product or property of one person, but the expression of our common and unique praise, discovery and sharing. Worship is not a rigid liturgy, but a changing, exciting, creative and healing experience with God and one another.

For worship to be vital, alive, expressive and representative as a corporate experience, the worship must be carefully woven into a tapestry of the life of the worshiping body of Christ. We must do all we can do to pray, seek the Word and express the Word as we hear it from God. Worship, however, is not our property. Like most things in the spiritual realm, it is a gift of God. Thus, the primary factor in worship is God the Holy Spirit - the Spirit's presence, favor, anointing and revealing. The Holy Spirit has many human minds, emotions and hands through which to speak. Even as we create worshipful things, the Spirit is speaking. Even as we remain silent, the Spirit groans for us.

At First Christian Church the worship is not traditional, not contemporary, not charismatic, not liturgical. It is, we pray, biblical and then whatever God makes it. We pray also that it speaks to God, speaks of God, and speaks God to us all.

 God's Word

The Bible is the basis of all preaching, the foundation of worship, and the center of all teaching.
"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
 - Eph. 6:17

Music

Congregational singing and special music are vital to our worship experience together.
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, - Eph. 5:19

The bread and cup are served at  every Sunday morning worship.
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." - Luke 22:19

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - John 4:23
